Membership purchase can be thru one of two primary paths.   Please consult with your club as to what avenue they would like you to take.  One is a direct purchase by the member via a club specific link that the club will provide you.   A second avenue is the club purchasing the membership on your behalf.    This cannot be done until they have received your signed commitment letter or some other written proof of acceptance of offer.    It will be important you complete all information in the SportsEngine sub-profile for the person the membership is being purchased for.  No club invitation email will be required in this instance.     

When you get to the checkout page, of membership purchase you will see two “transactions” that equal the total membership price.  One transaction represents the region membership fee going to Gateway Region, and the other represents the national membership fee going to USAV.  You may also see two separate charges (totaling the amount of your membership) on a credit card statement.   Please note there will be a 2.95% processing fee on the Gateway Region portion of the fee's.  

Background screenings will be a separate purchase, done after your membership purchase is complete.  You will automatically receive a link via e-mail to purchase a BGS if you need it.   It will also show as a requirement when logging into you SE user account.  Background screen  will be $14 and good for one year (plus 2.95 % card processing fee).   If you have lived outside the country in the last seven years and require an international screen that costs if $150.  This cost is not paid to Gateway and Gateway does not collect any money from background screen charges.   In event of a failed background screen there is an appeals process to follow in document below.

Following is the process to access the USAV Academy Learning Management System (LMS).   Members will log into their SportsEngine account.    Go to Household on left side menu.  Click their profile and then the Membership and view details.   USAV Academy button will display on top right.    Click on it and you will be in the LMS.   Click content library in left side menu and choose the applicable course required.

Clubs will have the ability to designate administrators within their SportsEngine HQ.  Different levels of access can be granted to control level of visibility.     This is done in the club's member directory by clicking on their name and then the Permissions tab.    To grant access to USA Volleyball information click on that option and pick Manage if you would like them to be able to make changes to rosters or View Only so they can only see rosters and print.     All members granted USA Volleyball access will have to have a SafeSport and Background completed and complete a USAV Admin membership waiver.     These precautions are taken to ensure anyone accessing USAV information has all safety eligibility requirements fully met.  

The member directory is a free tool your club has access to within SportsEngine HQ. Although the name is tricky, this area isn’t just for individuals with a purchased membership. This area is more like a phone book of individuals that have interacted with your club. If you use any of SportsEngine’s other tools, you may have individuals already in your directory (ex: you use SportsEngine registration tools or a SportsEngine website).

Individuals can be added to your member directory manually by entering information on an individual or through a file upload. Also there is a Public Club Assignment Link that may be utilized that take member thru purchase and club assignment.   After completion if not already in the directory will download automatically.  Important tip.   The membership invites should be sent to the parents email as they will be the account owner of the SportsEngine user account and the players will be profiles in that account.    The invite will have the players name but again should be sent to parents email.    

You can also use the directory to create groups of people and easily message them from the system!

All individuals will have an eligibility status. An individual who has met all requirements will appear as eligible. Once a membership is purchased, that individual will receive an eligibility email outlining all requirements they still need to meet and will clearly see in their account that there are remaining requirements to be met.

If you require SafeSport training, the system will send you a link via e-mail to complete the training.  USAV has a technology that allows the system to know which training is appropriate for you (Core vs. Refresher) and that will automatically load it for you.  Core will need to be retaken every 4 years.    In the interim years there will be shorter refresher courses.  

A major benefit of this new system will be a greater ability for both clubs and region staff to ensure everybody meets eligibility requirements prior to being put on a roster.  This process will be smoother for all involved.

Juniors who are 18, or who will turn 18 during the season, will be assigned a membership that automatically enrolls them in SafeSport.
