Are you ready for some great volleyball FUN? Then enter your team in the Spikin' It Grass Volleyball Tournament. Now in it's 30th year, St. Louis’ LARGEST outdoor grass volleyball tournament - Spikin' It - promises players an exciting tournament with divisions for all playing abilities. Enjoy a great day of hanging out in the park and playing volleyball with hundreds of fellow volleyball enthusiasts!
All Spikin' It players who enter & pay by July 12th will receive a tournament tank. First and second place teams in each division win prizes! CASH PRIZES for the Open division!
Participants that register after the early registration period are not guaranteed a tournament tank (SO REGISTER & PAY EARLY)!!!

Open: The most competitive teams with experienced and highly skilled players; one bracket, cash prizes.
Club: Competitive teams; high / low brackets for divisions with 8 or more teams.
Intermediate: Geared towards players/teams who are seeking a little bit more competition. Participants that play at this level have a reasonable knowledge of the rules. Most players on the team should be able to pass and set with relative accuracy and should be prepared for hitting and blocking.
Recreation: For new players or just-for-fun teams (teams with limited skills and abilities - no strong hitters or leapers). Jump* serves are prohibited (with downward trajectory*; jump float serves are legal).
Division Sizes
If a division does not have enough teams to host, teams will be contacted with potential alternatives. This may include combining divisions. If there are still not enough teams for a given division, the teams affected will be refunded.
Tournament Format
Spikin' It competition consists of pool play to determine which teams will qualify for divisional playoffs. Teams play between 3 and 8 games in pool play and a minimum of 2 teams from each pool advance to the playoffs - but we will try to take as many as possible. In coed, at least half of the players on the court must be female at all times.
Team Check-In
One of the players on your team must check in your team at the event tent on site at Spikin' It between 7:30 and 8:15 am on the morning that your division plays. You will receive your play schedule and your official Spikin' It tank tops at that time. Play will begin at 8:45 am.
